One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to hike. During the summer, there is more time to go for a hike but with the summer also comes the heat. A very important thing to do in the summer is to keep hydrated and this also applies for hiking, no matter what the season. It is not always possible to carry enough water on us during a long hike, so here are some informative videos on different ways to purify water while on the trail.

Uses of Duct Tape while Hiking

Duct tape is a simple and inexpensive things that has multiple uses. Here are some videos that offer good tips on the uses of duct tape while hiking.

http://www.rei.com Take two or three feet of duck tape and wrap it around your trekking pole. It has tons of uses and then you always have it with you in the back country if you need it.

We love hiking with our beloved pooches. We get to share the outdoors with a pet that is part of our family. However, there are those that don’t feel the same way about dogs and you never know if you will encounter someone on the trail that does not see them as a friend. Be courteous and keep a leash with you to keep hiking a pleasant experience for everyone on the trail.
