the ascent

.

this is the final phase of the ascent to the top of half dome. there are metal cables drilled into metal rods running up the side of the rock face, with wooden planks acting as steps at regular intervals. to ascend to the top, you pull yourself up, one step at a time.


climbing the raw vertical of half dome was one of the most breathtaking, inspiring, and exhilarating experiences ever.

i would do it again in a minute.
